Well, We're Famous Now

Here's a wonderful article, by the wonderful Jason Nahrung. Follow the link. I don't know how long it will stay active, but it's a cool piece on shared worlds, of which the Lost Shimmaron is an example.

There's a bit in there where Tansy talks about half the authors using comedy puppies well, guilty as charged, and while I removed the comedy puppy (which was actually something else, and only outwardly a puppy) I will regret it until the day I die - not really, well, maybe, just a little.

The Singing Stones are Nearly Sung

This fantabulosity is book two of the lost Shimmaron. Pretty isn't it, and it sure would go well with book one. It's an exciting adventure with robber-siblings, cool dogs, and weird worlds. And there's Singing Stones, that's right, Singing Stones.

You can check it out here.

And I can't for the life of me work out why it's coming up bigger than Tansy's book on the image on the sidebar. Must be some sort of Singing Stone mojo.

It's a Long Time Between Posts in the Lands of Shimmaron

I know, it's been a while, but time works differently in the many interconnected worlds of the Shimmaron.
So what's been happening in this one?
Tansy has launched her book,

And, thanks to Rowena and her husband, we've got a trailer for the series, check it out here, it's pretty cool.

Seacastle is Here

Tansy's book, Seacastle is here. Yes, that's book number one of "The Lost Shimmaron" and it's about the adventures of two brothers in an underwater world. It's exciting and fun, and it has mermaids and tiger people.
You can order it here. But you should also be able to buy it at all ABC shops and good bookstores any day now.
Ernie's a big fan, you can see him reading it below.

He's up to chapter 4 already.

Welcome

Hey,

my name's Trent Jamieson, and I am a writer. This is my Shimmaron Blog, which is why it's called Trent's Shimmaron Blog, obviously, as opposed to The Amazing Blog About Exploding Balloons. The Lost Shimmaron is a series of children's books, here's a list of the books and their authors:

Tansy Rayner Roberts ‘Seacastle’
Margo Lanagan ‘The Singing Stones’
Rowena Cory Daniells ‘The Evil Overlord’
Trent Jamieson ‘The City and the Stony Stars’
Maxine McArthur ‘The Lute’s Tale’
Marianne de Pierres ‘Citrine’
Richard Harland ‘Into the Abyss’

They're all excellent people, as you can see I'm one of them*, and that my book is called "The City and the Stony Stars". Tansy's book, "Seacastle" is out very soon.

I live in Brisbane with my wife Diana – who's a school teacher, don't you know.

I also live with my cat, Cosmo.
(He's not angry, he's just yawning.)

And my dog, Ernie.
He's not as dopey as he looks, and he is very fond of walks.
Anyway, I'll tell you more as each book comes out.
*I'm very modest
